Who we are

HansGrim.com is operated by Hans Grim, pianist, music director, and educator. Our website address is https://hansgrim.com.

This is Hans Grim’s personal professional website. The ACU student resources support his collaborative piano work and are not an official university website.

For privacy questions or requests, contact hans@hansgrim.com.

Information you provide

When you contact me, submit music, report an upcoming performance, or book a rehearsal, the information collected may include:

  • Your name and email address.
  • Your studio or class.
  • Uploaded scores and their filenames.
  • Repertoire, performance dates, and event details.
  • Appointment information and messages you provide.

I use this information to respond to inquiries, organize music, prepare for performances, schedule rehearsals, and provide musical and educational services.

Student forms and booking services use Google products. Music uploads and form responses are stored in Google Drive and Google Sheets. Some services require you to sign in to a Google account. Do not include passwords or unrelated sensitive information in submissions.

Public performance schedules

The Vocal Lab schedule is publicly accessible. It displays information submitted through the performance alert form, including the singer’s name, repertoire, performance date, and how long ago the alert was submitted.

Email addresses and uploaded scores are not displayed by the current schedule feature. Performance entries stop appearing on the upcoming schedule after their performance date, but the underlying submission may remain in the records.

Please keep performance descriptions suitable for public display. Contact me if an entry needs correction or removal.

Technical information

The website’s server logs may record your IP address, browser information, requested pages, and access times. This information is used to operate the website, diagnose problems, and investigate misuse.

The website is hosted on a Linode server operated by Akamai. Cloudflare provides domain-name services and may provide security and traffic-delivery services when enabled.

Cookies and accounts

WordPress uses cookies for functions such as testing browser cookie support, maintaining login sessions, and remembering account display preferences.

If you have a website account, WordPress stores the information in your user profile. Administrators can access that information to manage the website. Passwords should never be shared through contact or student forms.

You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent login or other features from working.

Comments

If comments are enabled and you leave one, the website collects the information entered in the comment form, along with your IP address and browser information for spam prevention.

Your comment and display name may become public. If Gravatar is used, a hash derived from your email address may be sent to that service to retrieve your profile image. Gravatar is covered by Automattic’s privacy policy.

Comments and associated information may remain until they are removed. If you choose to save your commenting details in cookies, those cookies may persist for up to one year.

Embedded content and external services

Pages may include YouTube videos or other embedded content, as well as links to Google Forms, Google Drive, and Google Calendar.

When you load embedded content or follow an external link, the provider may receive technical information about your visit. Depending on the service and your settings, it may use cookies or associate activity with an account you are signed into.

Google services, including YouTube, are covered by Google’s privacy policy. Other external services have their own privacy policies.

Who can access your information

Information may be processed by the providers needed to host the website, store submissions, deliver email, manage appointments, and maintain security.

Student submissions may be shared with the relevant teacher or production personnel when needed for the musical or educational activity for which they were submitted. Public performance information is shared as described above.

Information may also be disclosed when required by law or reasonably necessary to address fraud, misuse, or security incidents.

How long information is retained

Contact messages, appointment records, music uploads, and performance submissions are retained as needed for the work they support, follow-up activities, and administrative records.

Removing an item from the public schedule does not automatically delete the original form response, uploaded file, or backup copy. Backup copies may remain until they are replaced or expire.

Your choices and requests

You may contact hans@hansgrim.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held through this website and its associated student tools.

I may need to verify your identity before responding. Some records may need to be retained for legal, administrative, or security reasons. Available rights may also depend on applicable law.

For information controlled independently by Google or another provider, you may need to use that provider’s privacy controls or contact it directly.

Uploaded files

Only upload files you are authorized to share. Images and other files may contain embedded information, such as author details or location metadata. Remove information you do not intend to share before uploading.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when website features or data-handling practices change. The latest revision date will appear at the top of this page.
