Demo Media
Below is a collection of videos that showcase the range of my musical adventures. I rarely have a video camera running, so most of my favorite moments simply have to remain only in memory, but the following categories offer a decent sampling of what I am capable of.
Note: I'd be happy to share more video - including recordings from the pit, but you'll need to contact me for a private link for copyright purposes. The selections below are selections not explicitly protected by copyright.
Choral Conducting
I have been conducting choirs since I was a junior in high school. These videos are from schools I taught at as well as my senior recital aty Texas Wesleyan where i assembled a chorus of about 40 of my friends and colleagues especially for the recital.

FWAFA Christmas Concert 2018
As a senior in high school in 1994, I had the great honor of conducting my high school choir on a piece in our year end concert.
Rehearsal Footage
This is a very raw glimpse of my daily high school choir rehearsals. I didn't edit this - so it is a very real - "work in progress" snapshot of a day in the life of my HS choir.
Musical Theatre
The first show I music directed was a production of West Side Story with a pit of 3 people! It was insanely challenging, but I was able to make it work with the resources I was given. It remains one of my absolute favorite shows to MD. Over the years I've been blessed to work with some exceptionally talented casts and assemble much larger orchestras at regional theatres and colleges. I'm most at home in the pit.
In the summer of 2022 I spent a week at NYU studying musical theatre conducting with an absolute legend of a maestro - Ted Sperling as part of a summer intensive.

Rehearsal Tracks
Often singers can rally benefit from a good set of rehearsal tracks/recordings. Although I despise using prerecorded audio in performance - it can be a very efficeint way to help singers learn difficult material. These tracks are from a current production of Plaid Tidings. The show has live musicians except for this one number, which I created a track for in Logic Pro and then added demo vocals for each part. There are several different files provided. One is just the track they'll use in teh production, but there's also a full mixdown of all 4 vocal parts and then each part seperated for singers to work with in their own time.

Smudge
I created this demonstration track for this short, but tricky section of a piece with orchestra so taht middle school students could become more familiar with it.
Colaborative Pianist
The very personal experience of making music with another performer is something that drives me. Any opportunity I have to provide piano support to a vocal or instrumental artist feeds my creative spirit.

Pianist
During the pandemic I helped produce several videos that needed short underscoring. This is a bank of some short 'ditties' I used as a source when I needed something. I didn't realize when I filmed it that you can see the strings vibrating. How neat! These recordings were made using a pair of Audix SCX25A large diaphragm condenser mics. Most of these short pieces are from choral pieces I love.
Audio and Video Production
The pandemic challenged us all to adapt to a new landscape. I already had strong skills with audio production, but all of a sudden my job needed me to be a video editor too. These videos highlight some videos that I created from scratch. The MIDI sequencing and audio recording was all done in Apple's Logic Pro and the video editing was done within Apple's Final Cut Pro.

I recorded this piece live using a Behringer x32 and later mixed it down to post using Logic Pro
Dorico Sample Transcriptions
Although I am profissient in Finale - Finale was discontinued last year and offered in its place a new software option which I quickly fell in love with and used for several transposition projects for Beth-El Congregation this fall in preperation for their high-holy days services. These PDF's are what I provided to them with a very quick turnaround. They showcase my skills within Dorico and my attention to detail and nuance whilst also demonstrating my ability to quickly adapt and learn new software and workflows.
